INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT in the Republic of Bashkortostan, an institution of supplementary prof. education and a scientific and technological centre in the system of continuing pedagogical education. Founded as a 3-year ped. course based on teacher’s seminars in Ufa in 1920. In 1925, the advanced training offices for ped. personnel were created. In 1933, they were transformed into Bashk. Advanced Training Institute for Personnel in the System of Public Education. Since 1938, Bashkir Institute for Teachers Training. Since 1992, Bashkir Institute for Education Personnel Advanced Training. Since 1996, Bashkir Institute for Education Development. Since 2010, the current name. In the Institute, there are courses of both prof. retraining and advanced training aimed at teachers and executives in the system of education. There are full-time, part-time and distant-education programs. The Institute consists of 13 departments, centres for information and technical support, e-learning centre and a library, etc. The I.F.E.D. publishes more than 200 scientific, educational and technology describing works every year.
