INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES (IT), hardware and software methods and means of data collection, registration, accumulation, storage, processing, transfer and reproduction. Super computer technologies, artificial intelligence methods, intelligent data processing and management systems, geoinformation systems and calculations have been used by USATU in its research work, since the 1980s. The Bashkir Regional Centre of New Information Technologies (since 1991, is a part of the all-Russia network; takes part in the development, implementation and quality management of national informatization projects in higher professional education, etc) and OOO Active Telecom-USATU Competence Centre (as part of the IT Cluster) are involved in this activity. Beginning in 1984, the Chair of Computer Science and Engineering Cybernetics of the USPTU has carried out studies of information systems for process management at oil and petrochemical companies and refineries in order to solve environmental problems, and to create artificial neural networks. The results of this work have been integrated in the production process, and are used for the control of the technical conditions of engineering networks, used for oil production, transportation and refining. The IT Chair of the Bashkir State University (BSU) has developed effective algorithms and programs for numeric analysis of metal electrochemical protection against corrosion, electroplating and electrolysis of non-ferrous metals. The BSU Chair of Programming and Economic Informatics has developed IT for geo-information systems; it has also solved direct and inverse problems in mathematics and physics, etc. In 2005 the Professional Education and IT Institute at the Bashkir State Pedagogical University established an academic and research laboratory for information systems and technologies. They create and suggest integration of information systems in various sectors of the national economy, perform mathematical modelling, system analysis, statistical processing of data, etc. Since 2010 the Information and Communication Technologies Centre of the RB has acted as an E-government operator. It maintains the portal and the register of State and Municipal services, the register of information systems and resources, and organizes the State multi-service network for data transfer from the Republic. A unified electronic registration desk, a system for creation, collection and processing of basic medical records in electronic format and the first aid resource management program, are also in operation.
