IRENDYK
IRENDYK, a Bashk. folk song, kyska-kyuy. First recorded by S.Gabyashi and published in the Bashkort Khalk Iyrdardary digest. An old hunting quick-tempo dance song. According to one of the legends, the song was composed in the middle of the 18th century by Bulgair, hunter and kuraist, enchanted by the beauty of Irendyk ridge. The chant, which is composed of couplets and a small range, is characterized by a clear rhythm, rising intonations and a lively tempo. The I. arrangement was made by Kh.F.Akhmetov, M.M.Valeyev for voice and piano, S.Gabyashi, S.A.Nizametdinov, M.P.Fomenkov for the choir a cappella, and I.V.Saltykov for the choir and symph. orchestra. The melody of the song is used in the Khakmar opera by M.M.Valeyev, the Crane Song ballet, the First Concert for violin with the orchestra by N.G.Sabitov, and the namesake dance staged by Kh.F.Mustaev.
