ISMAGILOV, Fayzrakhman Abdrakhmanovich (b.24.3.1955, Selo Zuyakovo of Beloretsky Raion of the BASSR), Painter. Merited Acad. of the Russian Academy of Arts (2015). Merited Artist of the RB (1997). Laureate of the RB State Award named after Salavat Yulayev (2004). Graduated from the USIA (1978). Between 2003—15, he worked as Dir. of the Museum of Art. I.’s works are focused on the understanding of national traditions and history of the Bashk. people. Staying within the realistic style, the artist used the language of parables and allegories: Whirlpool, Tolpar, Giants. The themes of Motherland, warriors’ feats and generations development are depicted in such series of paintings as Bashkirs in the Patriotic War of 1812, The Legend of Salavat (all – in cooperation with I.I.Gayanov), etc.
