ISRAFILOV, Rifkat (Rafkat) Vakilovich

ISRAFILOV, Rifkat (Rafkat) Vakilovich (b.6.8.1941, Derevnya Novomuslyumovo of Mechetlinsky Raion of the BASSR), Director, Teacher. Full Professor (1993). People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1989), Merited Artist of the RSFSR (1982), BASSR (1977), RT (1993), and the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania (2002). Laureate of the RF State Award (1966) and the BASSR Award named after Salavat Yulayev (1976). Awarded with the Order of Peoples’ Friendship (1986), Order of Honour (2002), the 4th Class Order for Merits to the Fatherland (2012), Order of Peoples’ Friendship (2021). Graduated from the Ufa School of Arts (1965), GITIS (1973). Since 1965 — Actor, Dir.; since 1981 — Chief Stage Dir. and the Artistic Managing Dir. at BSAT, simultaneously between 1979—98 a Lecturer at USIA. Since 1997 — Artistic Managing Dir. at Orenburg Regional Drama Theatre named after M.Gorky.

On the stage of the Bashkir Drama Theatre he staged over 40 plays, characterized by the integrity and brightness of imaginative solutions and by the diversity of style and genre. I. brought up acute social and philosophical topics in the plays, reflecting deep moral problems of society. The initiator of the International Festival of Turkic Theatres Tuganlyk in Ufa.
