HISTORY OF THE BASHKIR PEOPLE, a scientific edition in 7 volumes. Prepared in 2009 by the Institute of History, Language and Literature, as well as scholars of the Academy of Sciences of the RB, the Bashkir State University, and other institutions of the RB and the Russian Federation. Chief Editor – M.M. Kulsharipov. The 1st volume (2009) is devoted to the ancient and medieval periods in the history of the Bashkortostan initial territory; the 2nd volume (2012) – to the tribes that participated in the ethnogenesis of the Bashkirs in the 5–8th centuries, and to the political, socio-economic, cultural and spiritual history of the Bashkir ethnos 9 – mid.16th century; the 3rd volume (2011) devoted to the period of mid.16th – end of the 18th century; the 4th volume (2011) devoted to the period from the end of the 18th century and until the start of the 1904–05 Russo-Japanese War; the 5th volume (2010) covers the period of 1900– 40; the 6th volume (2011) covers the period from June, 1941 to April, 1985; the 7th volume (2012) covers period of 1985–2012. Each volume has explanatory notes, including a bibliographic index, geographical index, nominal index, list of abbreviations, etc. The 2012 edition was updated with the Documents and Materials on The History of the Bashkir People, including the A.Kh. Pshenichnyuk monograph Filippovka: The South Urals 4th Century BC Nomadic Nobility Necropolis and historical sources on the history of the Bashkirs from ancient times to the present day.
