KARAGAY

KARAGAY, a balneological health resort. Located in Mechetlinsky Raion of the RB, 126 km away from the Suleya Railway Station (Chelyabinsk Obl.), near Selo Bolsheustikinskoye. Opened in 1969. In 2002, it was reorganized into the Republican Centre for Health Retreat and Occupational Diseases and Injury Rehabilitation. It is a centre for treatment of musculoskeletal, nervous, respiratory, digestive systems and female reproductive organs diseases. The primary natural remedies used are Karagay Mineral Springs (contain sulphates, hydrocarbonates, magnesium, calcium, iodine, fluorine in 1—2 g/L concentration), sapropelic sulphid free eutrophic muds, goat kumys, and the climate.
