KARAIDELSKY RAION
KARAIDELSKY RAION, located in the NE part of the RB. Established on February 20, 1932 due to the abolition of the Baykinsky Raion and disamalgamation of Askinsky and Mishkinsky raions of the BASSR. On March 20, 1937, Baykibashevsky Raion was separated from K.r., part of territory being transferred to Askinsky Raion. Abolished on July 4, 1956, territory became part of the Baykibashevsky Raion, which on August 31, 1956 was renamed into K.r. Territory — 3,786 km2. Adm. centre — Selo Karaidel, which is located 220 km NE of Ufa and 110 km SE of the Shchuchye Ozero (Pike Lake) Railway Station (Perm Kray). Population — 25.5 thous. people (2017).
In 2018, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 107.6 thous. ha (28% of the total area), including arable lands — 42.1, hay — 27.4, pastures — 38.1; forest area — 235.5, surface waters — 12.3. Agricultural enterprises [8 OOOs, 60 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of grain crops, breeding cattle dairy and meat direction. Sheep breeding is well‑developed. Large‑scale wood processing is performed by GUP Karaidelsky Forest, OOO KaSoL, Ufalesprom, Alpiysky (Alpine), and 32 logging enterprises. Also, there are: BashRES-Neftekamsk, Karaidelsk Complex Service — a branch of PAO Gazprom-Gazoraspredeleniye (Gas Distribution), OOO GIP‑Electro, MUP TeploKomSnab, OOO Montazh‑service, Nur, Progress (bakery, etc), etc. The Birsk—Tastuba— Satka Highway (Chelyabinsk Obl.) crosses the territory.
There are: representative offices of Eastern Academy of Economics, Humanities and Law, a branch of the Bashkir Agricultural College, 20 general education schools, 6 independent pre‑school educational institutions and 20 branches, a centre of children’s and youth’s creativity, a children’s music school, a youth’s sports school; a central hospital, 5 medical outpatient clinics, 50 medical and obstetrical centers, the Zvyozdny Sports and Health Retreat Centre (Selo Atamanovka), the N.F.Gastello’ Children’s Sports Camp, Aydos Country Camp; the Central Palace of Culture, 18 rural palaces of culture, 19 rural clubs, 25 libraries, a local history museum, a stadium; the Albert Estate and the Tri Peskarya tourist centers (both — in Selo Berdyash), such tourist camps as U Tryokh Medvedey (Near the Three Bears) in Derevnya Novoyansaitovo and Alpha in Derevnya Shamratovo, etc.
