THE CARDIOLOGY CENTRE

THE CARDIOLOGY CENTRE, the leading republican specialized centre for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in the RB. Founded in 1981. It consists of the polyclinic, the inpatient clinic with 13 departments, such as Department of Resuscitation and Intensive Care, three Departments of Cardiology, Department of Children’s Cardiology, Department of Vascular Surgery, two Departments of Cardiosurgery, and others, 2 surgery suites with 8 operating theatres, diagnostic service, outpatient hemodialisis centre and others. Over 10 thous. surgeries and radiosurgical studies are performed annually, over 30 thous. hemodialysis procedures have been conducted. The unique surgeries are performed in the Centre, such as the single‑stage endoprosthetics of thoracic and abdominal aorta, etc. There are 6 active Schools of Health. In 2017, it had over 200 physicians employed. The centre uses the scientific finding of V.V.Plechev.
