SYNTHETIC RUBBERS, elastomers for rubber manufacturing. The world’s largest diene S.r. industrial complex is located in Bashkortostan. Sterlitamak Synthetic Rubbers Plant produced its first roll of oil‑extended S.r. of SKMS‑30AKM‑15 brand in 1960; butadiene‑‑methylstyrene S.r. of the SKMS‑30 ARKM‑15 brand has been produced since 1962, and SKMS‑50P — since 1972. A pilot industrial production of polyisoprene S.r. of domestic technology for the first time in the USSR, brand SKI‑3, was commissioned in 1963; its industrial production was put in operation in 1970. S.r. of SKI‑3S brand and oligopiperylene S.r. of SKOP‑K brand have been produced since 1987, SKI‑5 — since 1989, S.r. of the SKMS‑30, ARKP N brands (butadiene‑styrene), SKI‑3D, SKI‑5PM (isoprene), SKEHG‑ST (triple copolymer of epichlorohydrated S.r.), etc — since the 90s. The production of isoprene and styrene‑butadiene rubbers by ZAO Kauchuk composed 33% and 40% respectively of the total output in the RF in 2002. Since 1967 ethylene‑propylene S.r. of the SKEP and SKEPT brands have been developed using the domestic technology at Synthetic Spirit Ufa Plant for the first time in the USSR. The Sterlitamak Petrochemical Complex produces low‑molecular diene S.r. employing an amine curing system (since 1967), unparalleled abroad; liquid S.r. of the SKOP brand — from piperylene; low molecular weight S.r. of the PDI‑1K and PDI‑3K (polydieneurethane‑epoxy S.r.) brands — by copolymerization of divinyl and isoprene. The RB ranks 2nd (20.8%) in the production of S.r. in the RF (2017).
