CIVILIANS AND MILITARY PERSONNEL SOCIAL PROTECTION COMMITTEE OF THE RB, a public organization established to protect the rights of servicemen called from Bashkortostan and to assist parents and family members of the dead servicemen. Located in Ufa. Founded in 1990, as Bashkir Independent Committee on Protection of Servicemen. Since 1996 — Committee on Social Protection of Servicemen and their Families. Since 2018 — the current name. Member of the Committee of Russian Soldiers’ Mothers. Has 27 branches in cities and districts of the Republic. In 2004, the Committee held an international seminar in Ufa on military personnel and conscripts rights protection. The Committee members made 6 trips to Georgia (1991— 93), 7 trips — to Tajikistan (1993—95), 13 trips — to Chechen Republic (1995—96, 1999—2000; as a result, 27 servicemen and residents of the RB were released from captivity), 3 trips — to North and South Ossetia during the period of hostilities. Since 1997, the Museum of Soldier’s Glory and Maternal Memory operates under the Committee. This is the only museum of this kind known on the RF territory.
