KONAREV, Vasily Grigoryevich (23.12. 1915, Selo Golubovka of Buzuluksky Uyezd of Samara Gub., now Selo Pervokrasnoye of Sorochinsky Raion of Orenburg Obl., — 27.1.2006, Saint‑Petersburg), Biochemist. Acad. of VASKhNil (1978), Merited Acad. of the AS RB (1991), Dr.Nat.Sci. (Biological Sciences) (1955), Full Professor (1956). Merited Master of Sciences of the BASSR (1965). Awarded with the 1st Class Order of Patriotic War (1985), Order of the Red Star (1944). Graduated from the Kuibyshev Teacher’s Training Institute (1938). Participant in the Great Patriotic War. Since 1956, he was Dir. of the Biology Institute, since 1962 — Head of the Department of Biology and Cytochemistry, simultaneously, between 1963—66 — Professor in the BSU. K. revealed the regularities in cell development in the structural and functional transitions of the genetic apparatus, related to genome activity regulation, conducted studies on molecular marking of plant genetic systems, related to issues of genomic and genetic analysis of cultural plants and their wild nature counterparts in order to rationally use and preserve gene pool for selection.
