CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF THE RB

CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF THE RB, a republican body of judicial authority, independently administering justice through constitutional proceedings. Created on March 27th, 1996. It is composed of the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and three judges. The C.C. solves only issues of law; in the implementation of constitutional proceedings it refrains from establishing or researching the facts in all cases falling within the competence of other courts or other bodies. C.C. considers and resolves cases on the Constitution of the RB compliance with laws of the RB, normative acts of the State Assembly—Kurultay of the RB, Head of the RB, the Government of the RB and other republican bodies and executive authority and local government; interprets the Constitution of the RB; takes a legislative initiative on its conduct; considers complaints on constitutional rights and freedoms violation and other constitutional and legal issues assigned to his competence by the Federal and Republican laws. The decisions, orders, demands, instructions, calls, etc. entered into force by C.C. are obligatory for all state authorities without exception, local government bodies, public authorities and public associations, individual or legal entities and are subject to strict execution throughout the RB territory. The C.C. Chairman  is  appointed  by  the  State Assembly of the RB on the proposal of Head of the RB, Deputy Chairman and Judge of the C.C. — by the State Assembly of the RB on the proposal of Head of the RB taking into account the opinion of the C.C. Chairman (on the period of 12 years). Chairmen: I.Sh.Muksinov (since 1996), I.A.Adigamov (since 2000), L.Sh.Gumerova (since 2009), Z.I.Yenikeyev (since 2014).
