KRAKA
KRAKA (in translation from Bashkir — ridge, mountain ridge), a ridge. It is extended submeridionally from the Ryaz River (tributary of the Belaya River) to the mouth of the Uzyan River in Beloretsky, Abzelilovsky and Burzyansky raions. It consists of 3 mountain masses: Northern, Middle and Southern Kraka. Length — approx. 90 km, width of the northern part — approx. 15 km, central part — approx. 20 km, southern part — 10— 20 km, abs. alt. — 1,045 m. Ridges Akbiik, B. Krak, Surtandy are located at the northern Kraka and the Sargansky ridge is at the southern Kraka. There are 3 steps of levelling: lower (450—650 m), medium (750—900 m) and upper (more than 1,000 m). The tributaries of rivers Belaya, Kaga, Sargay and Uzyan originate on the slopes of K. There is an altitudinal zonation of landscapes: up to the height of 550—580 m there are pine and birch forests, higher there are sparse larch forests; at the height of 600—750 m there are multi‑grass and herb mountain steppes. The southern part of the ridge is located in the territory of Bashkirsky Reserve.
