THE RED LIST OF THE RB

THE RED LIST OF THE RB, an academic publication with descriptions of rare and endangered animal, plant, fungi, and lichen species. The first Red List of Bashkir ASSR was published in 1984 (reprinted in 1987) and contained 171 plant species and 157 animal species. Three Volumes of The Red List of the RB were published between 2001 and 2004. The 1st Volume called Rare and Endangered Higher Vascular Plants was published in 2001 under the editorship of Ye.V.Kucherov. It includes 220 flowering plants, 1 nakedseeded plant, 10 fern‑like plants and 1 lycopsid plant. The 2nd Volume called Mosses, Sea Weed, Lichen and Fungi, published in 2002 under the editorship of A.I.Solomeshch, included descriptions of 24 mosses, 19 sea‑weed, 12 lichen, and 5 fungi. The 3rd Volume, called Animals, was published in 2004 under the editorship of M.G.Bayanov and included 1 leech species, 28 insects, 7 fish, 3 amphibians, 6 reptiles, 49 birds and 18 mammals. In 2007 the unified full edition, including all the three volumes, was published. In 2011, the full edition was revised and the first volume Plants and Fungi was published under the editorship of B.M.Mirkin. The new edition included 284 additional species: 220 flowering plants, 10 fern‑like plants, 2 lycopsid plants, 29 mosses, 1 sea‑weed, 12 lichens and 10 fungi.
