KRASNOKAMSKY RAION
KRASNOKAMSKY RAION, located in the NW of the RB. Established on August 20, 1930 as Nikolo‑Beryozovsky Raion. Abolished on February 20, 1932, territory became part of Kaltasinsky Raion. Newly established on January 31, 1935 under the current name. Abolished on February 1, 1963, territory transferred to Yanaulsky Raion, in 1964 — to Kaltasinsky Raion. Newly established on March 31, 1972. Territory — 1,595 km2. Adm. centre — Selo Nikolo‑Beryozovka, which is located 230 km NE of Ufa and 7 km from the Neftekamsk Railway Station. Population — 27.2 thous. people (2017).
In 2018, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 95.8 thous. ha (60.1% of the total area), including arable lands — 52.4, hayfields — 16.9, pastures — 25.5; forest area — 38.2 and surface waters — 3.6. Agricultural enterprises [8 APCs, 8 OOOs, 74 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of grain, forage crops, potatoes and dairy cattle breeding. Among the large agricultural enterprises are: SPK Plemzavod (Breeding Plant)—Alga and OOO Karmanovsky Rybkhoz (Fish Farm). On the territory of the raion, there are: OOO Sabantuy Greenhouse Complex, Agro‑Men Poultry Farm, Krasnokamskmoloko, Kama; MUP Krasnokamstroyzakazchik, etc. Gorkovskaya Railway (Amzya— Neftekamsk—Agidel Line) and the following highways: Durtyuli—Neftekamsk, Krasnokholmsky—Nikolo‑Beryozovka and Neftekamsk—Yanaul cross the territory.
There are: 28 general education schools, 18 pre‑school educational institutions; an orphanage for children and teenagers, 2 arts schools, the Sozvezdiye (Constellation) Children’s Arts Centre, Prikamye Sports and Fitness Centre, 2 teenage sports clubs, a youth’s sports school; a central hospital, 32 medical and obstetrical centers, a centre of temporary inpatient social care for elderly citizens and disabled people, a psychoneurological boarding school, the Kama Children’s Recreation Camp; Khazino and Sosnovy Bor health resorts, the Central Palace of Culture, a rural multifunctional club, 30 clubs, 23 libraries, a local history museum and the Hero Sh.S.Suleymanov’ Memorial House. In the raion, there are 10 folk and 10 exemplary amateur art groups.
