KUMERTAU AVIATION PRODUCTION ENTERPRISE, AO. Manufactures civil and military helicopters, gas equipment; delivers training of ground and flight personnel, etc. Founded in 1953 in place of the central electromechanical workshops of Bashuglerazrezstroy Trust as the Repair Mechanical Plant (manufactured steel, cast iron and bronze casting, spare parts for agricultural machines, wood products, etc), since 1962 Kumertau Machine‑Building Plant, since 1972 Kumertau Helicopter Plant; between 1975—91, it included the branch of Guryev Mechanical Plant (Kazakhstan), since 1992 has its current name. In 1963, the plant launched the production of certain types of aircraft landing equipment, in 1967 — Ka‑26 helicopter, in 1972 — unmanned equipment, in 1974 — M‑17 aircraft and a part of the wing of TU‑154 aircraft, in 1979 — Ka‑27, Ka‑28, Ka‑29 helicopters, in 1984 — space equipment under Buran Program, in 1986 — K‑32 helicopter, in 1998 — K‑226.50, in 2000 — K‑31, in 2006 — ultralight helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.
