KUNAFIN, Giniyatulla Safiullovich (b.22.11.1946 in Selo Saitbaba, Gafuriysky Raion of the BASSR), Literary Critic. Associate Member of the AS RB (2012), Dr.Sci (Philology, 1998) and Full Professor (1999). Merited Education Sector Professional of the RB (1997), Merited Scientist of the RB (2009), Merited Worker of the Higher Professional Education of the RF (2006). Member of the Union of Writers of the RB. Graduated from the BSU in 1973. Since 1976 he has worked at the Institute of History, Language and Literature; since 1981 — at BSU; since 1986, Deputy Dean of Department of Philology and Journalism. Since 1990, Chairman of the Department of Bashkir Literature until the 20th century; since 2013 — Department of Bashkir Literature, Folklore and Culture, simultaneously, between 2012—16, Academic Secretary at the Department of Humanities of the AS RB. Scientific studies are dedicated to the history of the Bashkir literature, theory of literature and historical poetics. He carried out the textological research of the creative works by Sh.Zaki and M.I.Umetbayev. One of the authors of the following scholarly publications: History of Bashkir Literature, and History of the Bashkir People.
