MINOR KESHENE
MINOR KESHENE, an artifact of history and architecture dating to the 14th century. It is located 1 km to the east of Derevnya Nizhniye Termy of Chishminsky Raion, on the left bank of the Slak River (the basin of the Dyoma River). Described by R.G.Ignatyev, and V.S.Yumatov, studied in the 1950s by B.G.Kalimullin, and in 1985, by G.N.Garustovich. This Keshene was a centric construction with a square base of 6х6 m. The walls (thickness — 0.8 m, height — 0.4 m) are made of pieces of white limestone. The entrance 0.85 m wide is located on the south side. Four burials (two men, women, and children) were found in rectangular grave pits. The dead were buried in wooden coffins lying on their backs, heads directed toward W or NW with faces looking south. This belongs to early Muslim funerary procedure Bulgarian type.
