MAZUNOV, Victor Aleksandrovich (4.5.1942, Issilkul Station of Omsk Oblast – 4.3.2011, Ufa), Physicist. Associate Member of AS RB (1998), Dr.Sci. (Phys.Math.) (1992), Full Professor (2002). Graduated from the BSU (1965). Since 1966 worked at USC RAS: since 1994 as Deputy Dir., in 1996–2007 as Dir. of Institute of Molecule and Crystal Physics, at the same time in 1995–2006 Act. Acad.‑Secr. of Phys.‑Math. Sciences Department of the AS RB, in 1998–2002 at BSU. His research activity was dedicated to study of chem. physics and low‑temperature plasma physics processes, molecular spectroscopy and physical experiment techniques. M. has designed a Hughes‑Rozhansky speed selector, a mass spectrometer with surface ionisation, a double mass spectrometer with simultaneous registration of positive and negative ions and an installation for obtaining 3D massspectra of the latter.
