MEZHGORYE
MEZHGORYE, a town in the RB, a closed administrative and territorial formation. Located on the Inser River, within the Yuzhno-Uralsky (South Ural) Nature Reserve, 230 km SE of Ufa and 35.7 km S of the Yusha Railway Station. Territory – 940 km2. Population – 15.6 thous. people (2017).
Most of the population is engaged in the construction industry. FGUP Department of Construction No.30 and other enterprises operate in M. Yusha–Mezhgorye Highway cross the territory and connect M. with the Ufa–Beloretsk Highway. In M., there are: 3 general education schools, 5 pre‑school educational institutions, 2 children’s schools of arts, a supplementary school, a youth’ sports school; a hospital, a medical outpatient clinic; the Crystal Palace of Culture, and the Stroitel Palace of Culture, a library, a stadium, a sports complex with an indoor ice court; a church, and a mosque. In the town, there are 10 folk and 10 exemplary amateur art groups. The Nashe Vre- mya Mezhgorye newspaper is published.
Founded in 1979 as Rabochy Posyolok Solnechny (Sunny) near Derevnya Kuzyelga. Also known as Beloretsk‑15, and Beloretsk‑16. Since 1995 has current name and status.
