MINERAL DEPOSITS

MINERAL DEPOSITS, natural accumulation of mineral substance on the surface or in the bowels of Earth as a result of certain geol. processes, which in terms of quantity, quality and mining engineering conditions are suitable for industrial development, with a positive economic effect. Oil and gas fields and the deposits of limestone, gypsum stone, stone salt, sand‑gravel materials are developed in the platform part of the Republic. The deposits of fluorite (Suranskoye), iron (Tukanskoye, etc), chromium, limestone, magnesite, building materials were discovered in the mountainous part of the Republic. Copper‑sulphide and gold ore deposits (Vost.‑Semyonovskoye, Zap.‑Ozyornoye, Novo‑Uchalinskoye, Ozyornoye, Oktyabrskoye, Podolskoye, Sibaiskoye, Uchalinskoye, Yubileynoye, etc), the deposits of limestone (Khudolazovskoye, etc), construction and facing stone (Mansurovskoye, Sangalykskoye, Sev. Buskun, etc) are mined in Bashkir Trans‑Urals. Groundwater deposits are considered impor tant.
