MIYAKINSKY RAION, located in the SW of the RB. Established on August 20, 1930 as Kirgiz‑Miyakinsky Raion. From September 20, 1933 has its current name. Abolished on February 1, 1963, territory became part of Alysheyevsky Raion. Newly established on January 13, 1965. Territory – 2,051 km2. Adm. centre – Selo Kirgiz‑Miyaki, which is located 190 km SW of Ufa and 43 km SE of Aksyonovo Railway Station. Population – 25.2 thous. people (2017).

In 2018, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 153.8 thous. ha (75% of the total area), including arable lands – 83.4, hayfields – 17.8, pastures – 52.5; forest area – 36.3 and surface waters – 1.1. Agricultural enterprises [5 APCs, OAO, 10 OOOs, 100 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of grain, tech. crops, breeding meat cattle. Horse breeding, sheep breeding, pig breeding, and bee­keeping are well‑developed. On the territory of the raion, there are: a hatchery and poultry breeding station, and a forestry enterprise. There are: OAO Miyakimolzavod, OOO Remontnik (Repairer), Miyakinskaya Fish Company, Khlebokombinat (Bakery), etc. The Chishmy–Aksyonovo–Kirgiz‑Miyaki, Kirgiz‑Miyaki–Bizhbulyak, Kirgiz‑Miyaki–Sterlibashevo, and Kirgiz‑Miyaki–Tyater‑Arslanovo– Sterlibashevo highways cross the territory.

There are: 30 general education schools, 33 pre‑school educational institutions, House of Pioneers and Schoolchildren, a youth’ sports school, Mechta (Dream) Children’s Comprehensive Centre; a central hospital, 4 medical outpatient clinics, 41 medical and obstetrical centers; 35 clubs, 27 libraries, M.Akmullah and M.H.Gubaydullin museums, Hermitage Art Gallery, Miyaki Sports and Fitness Centre.

In the raion, there are 13 folk amateur art groups.
