MRYASOV, Sagit Gubaydullovich [1880, Derevnya Mryasovo of Orenburgsky Uyezd of the namesake gub. (Novosergiyevsky Raion of Orenburg Obl.) — 1932, Sterlitamak], Member of the Bashkir National Movement, Historian, Folklorist. Graduated from the madrassa in his native village. One of the organizers of the All‑Bashkir kurultays (congresses) in 1917. Since May 1917 he is a member of the Bashkortostan Obl. Bureau, Since June Editor of The Bashkort Ittifaki Byurokhynyn Mohbire, since July Deputy Chairman of the Bashkir Central Shuro and Editor of The Bashkort Newspaper. Since December Member of the Bashkir Government and the Smaller Kurultay, Mufti of the Main Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Bashkurdistan (ref. Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Bashkortostan). Between February—April 1918, M. was under arrest by order of the Orenb. Gub. Military Revolutionary Committee. Since June, Chairman of the Bashkir Central Shuro. In July, he organized and headed the Orenburg Military Department of Bashkortostan Government. In September, he participated in the Ufa State Meeting. In 1919—20 he worked in the ASBR People’s Commissariat of Internal Affairs, in the 1920s — in the Academic Centre. Participated in the development of the Bashkir alphabet, studied the Bashkir history, literature, language and folklore. He was the first Bashkir language translator and publisher of 7 poems by Salavat Yulayev.
