MURADYMOVSKOYE GORGE

MURADYMOVSKOYE GORGE, a natural park of area 23.6 thous. ha. It was organized to preserve benchmark natural complexes, to organize recreation and tourism (1998); a part of M.G. is located within the territory of the Iksky Reserve, in 2012 it became a part of Bashkir Ural Biosphere Reserve. It is located in the basin of rivers Bolshoy and Maliy Ik (basin of the Sakmara River), within the territory of Kugarchinsky and Zilairsky raions. In the park territory there are 46 caves, including one of the largest — Novomuradymovskaya, 36 caves of Muradymovskoye Gorge (section of Bolshoy Ik River valley near Derevnya Muradym of Kugarchinsky Raion). Flora accounts for 500 species of higher plants, including 17 relicts (Actaea spicata, Allium obliquum, Galium odoratum, Silene altaica Pers, etc) and 11 endemics. 17 rare plant species are mentioned in The Red List of the RB, of which Cypripedium calceolus, Stipa zalesskii, Stipa pulcherrima, Stipa dasyphylla, Stipa pennata, Fritillaria ru- thenica, Koeleria macrantha, Lathyrus lit- vinovii are mentioned in The Red List of the RSFSR. The fauna of M.G. is diverse. There are 27 species of mammals, 5 — amphibians, 4 — reptiles, 9 — fish. 122 bird species nestle here. Fauna accounts for 21 rare animal species, 11 of them are mentioned in The Red List of the RB, 10 — into The Red List of the RF.
