MUSTAFIN, Akhat Gazizyanovich (b.21.1.1957 in Derevnya Kulchurovo of Baymaksky Raion of the BASSR), Chemist. Acad. of the AS RB (2009), D.Sci. (Chemical Sciences) (1999), Full Professor (2003). Merited Master of Sciences of the RB (2007). Graduated from the BSU (1979). Since 1980, he worked at the IOC, since 1999 – at the BSAU. Since 2000 Deputy Chairman of the RB State Committee for Science, Higher and Secondary Professional Education, since 2002 Deputy Minister of Education of the RB, between 2004–10 Vice‑President of the AS RB. Since 2007 at the BSU (between 2010–13 as Rector). The pattern of the Claisen regrouping has been studied by M. in cooperation with I.B.Abdrakhmanov. The corrosion inhibitor Ural‑3, neutralizer of hydrogen sulfide Ural‑3M were developed and implemented at the enterprises of the oil refining industry. M. proposed cost‑effective schemes for the synthesis of antiviral drugs – azidothymidine and stavudine, an effective immunomodulator – 5‑amino‑6‑methyluracil, technologies for utilization of spent sulfuric acid, quarry and basement waters, methods for producing phosphoric acid from phosphates of the Karatau Deposit (Kazakhstan), etc.
