MUTALOV, Gaynetdin Hayretdinovich (18.12.1929, Derevnya Yantyshevo 1st of Zilairsky Canton of the BASSR, now Derevnya Yantyshevo of Khaibullinsky Raion of the RB, — 21.6.2011, Ufa), Conductor. People’s Artist of BASSR (1969), Merited Artist of RSFSR (1980) and BASSR (1963). Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labour (1955), Order of the Badge of Honour (1967). Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Military Conductors (1952). Between 1954—89 and 1993, he worked as a Conductor (1973— 80 — as Chief Conductor) at Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre, simultaneously between 1970—2003 — a Lecturer at USAA. The first Bashkir Conductor. In his repertoire there are over 70 plays. A subtle interpreter of Bashkir national music, M. was the first conductor of such operas as Waves of Agidel, Salavat Yulayev, musical comedy Svoyachenitsa by Z.G.Ismagilov, ballets In the Lunar Eclipse Night, etc.
