MUKHAMETKULOV, Aksan Baymurzich [17.10.1895, Derevnya Makarovo of Sterlitamaksky Uyezd of Ufa Gub. (Ishimbaysky Raion of the RB) – 14.11.1938, Alma‑Ata], Statesman. Member of the RCP(b) since 1920. Participant of the First World War. Graduated from the 2‑year Vocational School (1914), All‑Union Planning Academy (Moscow, 1933). Since 1922, Chairman of the Mesyagutovsky Canton Executive Committee, then Deputy Commissar of Agriculture of the BASSR. Between 1925–30, Chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars of the BASSR. Since 1933, State Serviceman in the Kazakh SSR. Member of the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. In 1938, he was subjected to political purges and executed by shooting. Rehabilitated in 1957.
