SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES. Located in Ufa. It was established in 1951 in the premises of the library of the History, Language and Literature Institute. In 2018, there were over 742 thousand units in the library, including over 284 thousand books (14 thousand rare books), over 446 thousand copies of periodicals (223 – in foreign languages), 20 thousand maps, microfilms, microfiche, 1.7 thousand theses and 8 thousand abstracts. The open access fund contains over 22 thousand documents, over 400 copies of digitized rare editions, an e‑catalogue and others. There are publications of the 16–19 centuries on history, archeology and ethnography of Bashkortostan, as well as books from personal libraries of scientists, etc. About 2 thousand readers are served annually. The Russian State Library has included it in the official List of Rare Books Collection Owners.
