UFA STATE PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY
UFA STATE PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY, a state‑owned university in Ufa, which was established in 1943 as the Ufa branch of M.Gubkin Moscow Oil Institute (established in 1930), which was evacuated to Ufa in October, 1941. Since 1948 — Ufa Oil Institute, since 1993 — the current names and status. The University comprises 6 departments: Automation of Production Processes; Mining and Oil; Mechanics; General Scientific Disciplines, Technology; and Pipeline Transport. Institutes: Architecture and Construction; Additional Professional Education; Economy and Service. Also, there are branches in Oktyabrsky, Salavat, Sterlitamak, etc. Graduates can receive either Specialist or Bachelor and Master degrees. Full‑time, part‑time and distant learning training are available. There are: postgraduate training programs, post‑doctoral programs, and councils for defense of Doctoral and Candidate’s theses. More than 150 textbooks, teaching aids and monographs are published annually in the University. The Oil and Gas Business journal and Bashkir Chemical Journal and For Oil Cadres (Personnel) newspaper are published. More than 100 thous. specialists have graduated from the university by 2018. On the territory of the University there is a memorial complex, dedicated to the participants of the Great Patriotic War (2005).
