NECHAYEVA, Tamara Pavlovna (17.10.1922, Posyolok Stantsii Narodnaya of Voronezh Gub. — 16.8.2003, Ufa), Sculptor, Ceramist, Monumentalist, and Painter. People’s Artist of the BASSR (1968), Merited Artist of the RSFSR (1974), Merited Artist of the BASSR (1957). Laureate of the BASSR State Award named after Salavat Yulayev (1991). Awarded with the Order of Friendship (1998). Since 1941, she lived and worked in Ufa. The multifaceted talent of manifested itself in the various fields of fine arts. Having started as a painter (The Armor of Salavat, The Wealth of the Urals), she was one of the first monumentalists in the Republic. She designed monuments to Salavat Yulaev in Ufa and in Paldiski (Estonia); to S.T.Aksakov, Sh.A.Hudaiberdin (jointly with B.D.Fuzeyev; both — in Ufa). She used various types of materials in the process of creating monuments: tinted plaster for portraits of M.M.Shaimuratov, marble for those of M.Karim, while aluminum for Z.G.Ismagilov’s portraits and ceramics for those of G.F.Kadyrov, etc. She is the author of a series of unique decorated porcelain (The Dance of Three Brothers, Prowess, Bashkir Beauty) and ceramics (panel picture Oil of Bashkiria, dinnerware set Honey, vase Kurai, dish Bashkir Dance) works. Between 1958—67 — Chairman of the Union of Artists of the BASSR.
