NIGMATULLIN, Nurmukhamet Magafurovich

NIGMATULLIN, Nurmukhamet Magafurovich (b.8.12.1946 in the Rabochy Posyolok Sibay of Baymaksky Raion of the BASSR, now Sibay — 26.06.2019), Religious Ieader, Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Bashkortostan (since 1992). Awarded with the Order of the Peoples’ Friendship of the RB (2016), the 2nd Class Al‑Fakhr Order (2006), the Order for Merits (2017). Graduated from the Al‑Bukhari Tashkent Islamic Institute (1979), the Advanced Training Courses at the Islamic Prizyv (appeal) Institute (Damascus, 1982); the Russian Academy of State Service under the President of the RF (Moscow, 2003). Since 1979, in the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, he has held the position of the Secretary‑General of Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the European Part of the USSR and Siberia. Since 1983, Imam Khatib of the First Grand Mosque. Since 1992, Chairman of the Presidium of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the RB. Between 1994–96 a member of the Higher Coordination Center of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, since 1996 – of the Council of Muftis of Russia.
