ORLOV, Viktor Semyonovich [2.4.1929, Derevnya Aleksandrovka of Ufimsky Canton of the BASSR (now Karmaskalinsky Raion of the RB) – 22.9.2002, Ufa], Journalist. Merited Cultural Sector Professional of the RSFSR (1988) and BASSR (1979). Laureate of the Award named after Sh.Khudayberdin (1990). Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labour (1976). Graduated from BSU (1961), Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU (Moscow, 1966). Since 1961, Department Head at the Sovetskaya Bashkiriya newspaper. Since 1966, Resident Correspondent in the BASSR at the Selskaya Zhizn newspaper (Moscow). In 1990, employee at the Vestnik newspaper (under the Council of Ministers). Since 1991, Department Head at the Izvestiya Bashkortostana newspaper. Between 1992– 98, Chief Specialist at State Inspectorate for Protection of Press and Mass Media Freedom under the Ministry of Press and Mass Media of the RB. Published his works as V.Alov (nickname).
