GAME ANIMALS

GAME ANIMALS, the species, that are objects of hunting and fishing. Market hunting takes place for commercial, sporting, scientific, and cultural purposes. The main G.a. of the RB are river beavers, wolf, white rabbit, wild boar, roedeer, marten, moose, brown bear, lynx, heather cock, geese, sandpipers, black grouse, ducks, and others. The objects of fishing industry are carp, bream, tench, perch, roach, sneep, sazan, pike, ide, etc. The acclimatization and breeding of valuable fish species is realized since the beginning of the 1900s. Since 1935, they have collected statistical data in the field of game mammals production, and since 1940, such data has been collected for birds as well. Since 1979, the annual complex registry of each G.a. species has been fulfilled. These data is published as a state report on the local nature conditions. The Red List of the RB includes more than 20 species of rare G.a., such as true otter, maral, European mink, roody shelduck, Russian sturgeon, etc. Those include more than 10 species which are also included in The Red List of the RF, such as bustard, curlew, taimen, river trout, European greyling, etc.
