PETROV, Boris Ilyich (28.8.1929, Derevnya  Bazhenovka  of  the  Belebeyevsky Canton of the BASSR, now Selo Bazhenovo of Belebeyevsky  Raion  of  the  RB,  — 23.8.2004, Ufa), Industrialist. Candidate of Economics (1973). Hero of Socialist Labour (1971). Merited Agronomist of the BASSR (1966), Excellent Employee of the Agricultural Industry of the RSFSR (1969), Excellent Employee of Public Education of the RSFSR (1968). Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1971), Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1966, 1976), Order of Peoples’ Friendship (1981). After graduating from the BAI (1951), he worked at the Belebeyevsky  Sovkhoz  of  Belebeyevsky Raion, since 1952 — at the 8 March Sovkhoz of Ermekeyevsky Raion, since 1956 — at the Matraevsky Sovkhoz of Haibullinsky Raion (since 1960 as Dir.). Since 1972 — Head of the Republican Production Association of Sovkhozes, since 1975 — 1st Deputy Minister of Agriculture  of  the  BASSR,  since 1986 — 1st Deputy Chairman of the State Agricultural Committee of the BASSR — Minister of the BASSR. Between 1988—97, worked at the BNIIZiS (until 1996 as Dir.), simultaneously, between 1988—95 — General Dir. of NPO Bashkirskoye. Under the leadership of P., Matrayevsky Sovkhoz achieved high performance in crop production and animal-husbandry: the yield of grain crops amounted to 27.8 Cwt/ha (1968); the average annual milk yield from a cow — 2,540 kg (1969).
