PLANETARIUM

PLANETARIUM, Ufa Scientific and Educational    Institution, where  images  of  the starry sky and space objects are projected onto a hemispherical screen (dome) using optical-mechanical projectors and digital technologies; lectures and audio/ video programs about the Earth and the Universe are also delivered. Established in 1964. The main (dome) hall has 85 seats. The dome base diameter is 8 m. The P. also hosts exhibitions, children’s arts competitions, Olympiads (educational contests in Russia), public demonstration of celestial bodies and phenomena through telescopes, etc.
