AMBASSADORS OF THE URALS

AMBASSADORS OF THE URALS (Ural Ilselere), the opera by Z.G.Ismagilov in 3 acts based on the drama of I.I.Dilmukhametov Living Land. Written in 1981. The premiere took place on March 30th, 1982 on the stage of the Palace of Culture and Technology of OAO UZEMIK (libretto by Dilmukhametov, music director and conductor — G.G.Aleksandrov, stage director — R.I.Tikhomirov, scenographer — V.I.Plekunov, choirmaster — L.H.Iskhakova, ballet master — F.M.Sattarov). It is a heroic and epic opera devoted to the accession of Bashkortostan to Russia. An important role is given to the mass scenes that embody the image of the people. The song Ural is used in the opera as the leitmotif of the Motherland and the Bashkir people, to characterize Ivan the Terrible — the quote from the Sticheron for the Celebration of Metropolitan Peter, created by the tsar — the canon in the chanting style.

The premiere of the 2nd edition of A.U. took place on September 18, 2007 on the stage of the Opera and Ballet Theatre (libretto by Dilmukhametov, musicdirector and conductor — R.E.Luther, stage director — G.G.Isahakyan, scenographers — P.V.Okunev and O.T.Shaishmelashvili, choirmaster — E.H.Gayfullina).
