SUBURBAN TRANSPORT

SUBURBAN TRANSPORT, the public transport, performing the carriage of passengers in the suburbs (to the distance of 50 km from the administrative borders of the city  or large  populated  area).  It  is classified as road transport, railway transport, river transport; by type of ownership — as state and private. The structure of the suburban passenger transportation of the RB is dominated by road transport. Regular suburban bus transportation in the cities and districts of the Republic is performed by the enterprises of GUP Bashavtotrans, Bashkir Production Group of Bus Terminals and Passenger Bus Stations and by individual entrepreneurs. The carriage of passengers using passenger railway transport is performed by suburban electric  trains  of  OAO  Bashkortostan Suburban Passenger Company. The river transport accounts for insignificant part suburban passenger traffic. River transport services are provided by the Bashkir River Shipping Company.
