NATURAL PARKS

NATURAL PARKS, a category of specially protected natural areas of regional value, where the economic activities, inflicting damage to natural complexes, are prohibited. N.p. have a status of environmental, scientific research and environmental educational institutions. Objectives of N.p.: protection of the territory in order to preserve unique natural complexes, natural, historical and cultural sites, rare animal species, rare plant species, etc; organization of recreation, tourism and preservation of recreational resources. Kandrykul was the first N.p. in the territory of Bashkortostan (1995). Asylykul, Iremel, Kandrykul, Muradymovskoye Gorge N.p with the total area of 125.130 thous. ha are currently operating (2016).
