PSTYGO, Ivan Ivanovich [10.4.1918, Derevnya Sukhopol of Ufimsky Uyezd of Ufa Gub. (Arkhangelsky Raion of the RB) — 23.2.2009, Moscow], Military Leader. Hero of the Soviet Union (1978). Merited Military Pilot of the USSR (1967). Marshal of Aviation (1975). Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1955, 1978), Order of October Revolution (1974), Order of the Red Flag (August and October 1942, 1945, 1953, 1956, 1968, 1969), Order of Alexander Nevsky (1944), the 1st Class Order of Patriotic War (1943, 1985), Order of the Red Star (1951), the 4th Class Order for Merits to the Fatherland (2008), etc. Participant of the Great Patriotic War. Graduated from the Higher Tactical Flight Training Course for Air Force Commanders (Lipetsk, 1947) and the K.E.Voroshilov General Staff Academy of the USSR Armed Forces (Moscow, 1957). In the Soviet Army since 1936. Since 1947, he was the Commander of the 23rd Air Force Army of the of Soviet Troops in Germany. Since 1967, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the USSR Air Force. Since 1977, Head of the Central Flight Safety Inspectorate of the USSR Armed Forces. Since 1983, worked in the Group of General Inspectors of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. In 2017, his bust sculpture was installed in Selo Valentinovka of Arkhangelsky Raion of the RB.
