POULTRY FARMING
POULTRY FARMING, a process of raising domesticated birds; a branch of livestock breeding. In Bashkortostan, P.f. began developing as an industry in the 1920s. The following farms function in the RB: Ashkadarskaya, Bashkirskaya, Tuymazinskaya, Turbaslinskiye Broilery, Ufimskaya, Jubileynaya. In 2016, the poultry headcount in all categories of businesses amounted to 9345.7 thous., incl. that in agricultural companies – 5890.4. The eggs yield amounted to 938.5 million: agricultural companies – 654.8, farms – 265, peasant (farming) farms – 18.7 million. In 2015, the average annual egg-production capacity was equal to 289 eggsper bird. For egg production, crosses Highsex white and brown, Loman white, Rodonit are used; while for meat production — Smena 7, Ross 308, Konkurent 2, PureLine, Cobb 500, Iza Habbard. Geese (Hungarian, Italian, Landsky, Lindovskyy, and Rhine breeds) are bred in the following raions and entities of the RB: Blagovarsky (Blagovarsky Poultry Farm, OOO Bashkirskaya Ptitsa), Ilishevsky (APC Syun), Tuymazinsky (OOO Agro-Gus, OOO Altyn Kaz Peasantry Farm), Ufimsky (OOO Agro-Gus Ural), Fyodorovsky (OOO Bashkirsky Gus), Chishminsky (OOO Agli). In the Republic, quail, ostrich, pheasant, guinea fowl, fancy hens, etc are bred (OOO Perepel Peasantry Farm in Tuymazinsky Raion, Perepelinoye (homestead) in Gafuriysky Raion, etc).
