BIRDS
BIRDS (Aves), a class of vertebrates. There are 28 known orders with about 8600 species. There are 296 species of 18 orders (Ciconiiformes, Passeriformes, Anseriformes, Piciformes, Podicipediformes, Charadriiformes, etc) in the RB. Size and body mass of the B. vary. Migratory, nomadic, non-migratory animals of aquatic, semi-aquatic, and terrestrial lifestyles. They care for their offspring: feed birdlings, protect, and teach them. They feed on animal and plant food, have an intense metabolism, constant high body temperature. They are spread throughout the territory of the Republic. Woodcock, mallard, bald-coot, quail, some geese, chickens, etc, are game birds. 46 species of B. are included in The Red Lists of the RB and the RF (red-breasted goose, azure tit, pale harrier, barbary falcon, etc). 5 species are included in The Red List of the RF (cinereous vulture, lessen white-fronted goose, Pallas’ sea eagle, griffon-vulture, and levant sparrow-hawk). 41 species are included in The Red List of the RB (willow ptarmigan, merganser, smew, Lapland owl, etc).
