RARE ANIMAL SPECIES
RARE ANIMAL SPECIES, the endangered species. R.a.a. are excluded from commercial use, hunting and extermination are prohibited, they require protection of the Government and are Red listed. In the territory of the RB animals are considered rare due to their isolated habitats (steppe viper, medicinal leech, swamp turtle, etc), and limited habitat areas (praying mantis, Calosoma sycophanta, Hucho taimen, etc); temporary stay on the territory of the Republic: during migrations (Branta ruficollis, gerfalcon, frost bird, etc), and in search for fodder (black vulture, pelican, stifftail, etc); rapid change of their habitat due to the application of chemicals, steppe plowing and other causes (Trichius fasciatus, stag beetle, etc), excessive hunting (true otter, European mink, etc), and insufficient data on species count in the wildlife (Libelloides macaronius, Saga pedo, carpenter bee, etc). In the Republic R.a.s. are protected in the reserves, sanctuaries, etc. There are actions being taken on reintroduction of river beaver, Russian muskrat, maral, etc. Raccoon dog, American mink and other species have been successfully acclimatized.
