ROMANKEVICH, Vladimir Mikhaylovich (10.9.1889, Grodno – 6.11.1966, Ufa), Surgeon. Dr.Sci (Medical Sciences) (1963), Full Professor (1963). Merited Doctor of the BASSR (1957). Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1967). Graduated from the Kharkov University (1918). Since 1919 in Ufa: worked in surgical and military hospitals, between 1922–27 – in the 1st Soviet Hospital, simultaneously – in the Bashkir Medical Technikum, since 1931 – in the People’s Commissariat of Healthcare of the BASSR, since 1932 – in BSMI, simultaneously, between 1933–38 Head of Scientific Research of the Branch of Moscow Blood Transfusion Institute and between 1950–56 Head Surgeon of the Ministry of Healthcare of the BASSR. His scientific research is dedicated to topographical anatomical studies of thoracic and abdominal cavities organs, nervous and vascular systems of the adult human.
