RYABCHIKOV, Vasily Rodionovich

RYABCHIKOV, Vasily Rodionovich (6.8. 1904, Derevnya Kokoryovo of Smolensk Gub. – 1986, Moscow), Statesman. Laureate of the 2nd Class Stalin Award (1949). Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1945, 1959), Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1944, 1948, 1952, 1971). Graduated from the Moscow Gubkin Petroleum Institute (1931). Since 1940, he worked at the Ufa Refinery (since 1942 as Dir.). Since 1946, Head of General Administration for Petroleum Refining, Deputy Minister of Oil Industry of the USSR, between 1958–74 Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Committee of the RSFSR (both – in Moscow). Under the leadership of R., for the first time in the country the process of the production of phosphorus catalyst for polymerization and alkylation plants was developed.
