SAGITOV, Mukhtar Mufazzalovich [27.8. 1933 in Selo Starosubkhangulovo (according tootherdata, in Derevnya Novomunasipovo), Burzyansky Raion of the BASSR — 20.6. 1986 in Izmir, Turkey, buried in Ufa] was a folklorist. Candidate of Philological Sciences (1965). Laureate of the Salavat Yulayev Award of the BASSR (1987). Graduated from the BSU in 1960. Since 1964, he worked in the Institute of History, Language and Literature. Scientific research is dedicated to the problems of the Bashkir epic studies, etc. Author of the monograph “Ancient Bashkir Kubairas” and the collection “Unpassing Pain”. One of the authors of the Bashkort Khalyk Izhady, Bashkir Folk Art and The Bashkir Folk Epic collections (1977; in a series The Epic of Peoples of the USSR).
