SALAVAT, small planet, No. 5546. Average distance from the Sun – 392 million km, min. distance from the Earth – about 201 million km. Diam. – about 11 km. Brightness in conjunction: 16 of stellar magnitude. Discovered on Dec. 18, 1979 by Belgian astronomer H.Debehogne (visited the Republic in 1970s), named after Salavat city. From the RB territory it can be observed through a telescope.
