SALAVAT YULAYEV, a personal encyclopedia dedicated to the 250th anniversary since the birth of Salavat Yulaev. Published in 2004 by the Bashkir Encyclopedia Scientific Publishing House. Chief Editor — I.G.Ilishyev, compiled by I.M.Gvozdikova. The monographic part contains biographical information, which is a creative description of the Hero. The alphabetic part — contains about 900 articles about Salavat Yulaev’s life and work during the Peasant War of 1773—75, incl. biographical information about his relatives, combat associates, etc. The alphabetic part also includes information on the fighting way, folklore heritage, Bashkortostan geographical objects associated with the batyr, etc. The book contains over 300 illustrations. Explanatory notes include a Bibliography, Lists of Gentlemen of the Salavat Yulayev Order and Laureates of the Salavat Yulaev State Awarded of the RB, etc. S.Yu. is the 2005 Laureate in the nomination People of our Land of the Malaya Rodina (Small Motherland) All‑Russia competition between regional published editions.
