SALAVATA YULAYEVA CAVE

SALAVATA YULAYEVA CAVE, Broken stone, a natural monument (1965). Located in the Kalim Uskan rock, on the right slope of the valley of the Sikasya River (tributary of the Zigan River), 5.7 km SE of Selo Makarovo of Ishimbaysky Raion. Length 35 m, aver. width 2,3 m, height 2 m, area 48 m2, volume 125 m3. The entrance to the cave in the shape of an arch is located at the base of the rock 6 m above the level of the Sikasya River. The entrance grotto is followed by passages: right and left, passing into a manway that leads to the grotto. There’s crushed stone and clay on the floor. Pines grow in the vicinity. Astragalus clerceanus, included in The Red List of the RB are in evidence here. The name of the cave is connected with the filming of the movie Salavat Yulayev.
