SANGALOV, Yuri Alexandrovich (28.4.1938, Gorky City – 29.12.2016, Ufa), Chemist. Associate Member of the AS RB (1991), D.Sci. (Chemical Sciences) 1981), Full Professor (1986). Merited Master of Sciences of the BASSR (1988). Graduated from the Gorky University (1960). Since 1972 at the Institute of Chemistry, since 1992 at the Institute of Petrochemistry and Catalysis, since 2005 at the Institute of Petroleum Refining and Petrochemistry Problems. Under the leadership of S., the principles of controlling olefinic and vinyl polymers synthesis and modification with the use of complex catalysts; scientific and technical school of inventing the alternative materials (semi‑viscous, water‑filled, impregnated, complex composition based raw materials) were developed. S. developed technologies for producing butyl rubber, polyvinylchloride, polyisobutylene, pentaplast (introduced at various enterprises of the RF), biotechnical methods of plants protection based on entomological adhesives (in the RF, CIS countries), materials for the production of high‑precision products, sealing compounds, lubricants, ointments, glue preparations and others, recycling methods of secondary raw materials (dispersed wood, resins, elemental sulfur, etc).
